About Kinder Yarns

Stories that spark imagination

What it is

Kinder Yarns is a library of narrated children's stories for kids aged 4-10. Each story is an adventure, discovery, or journey - written to be listened to, not read. No customisation, no creation, no accounts - just stories.

How the stories are made

Stories are crafted using AI tools, not created by AI. A human writer develops each story concept and structure, then uses AI to help draft the text. Every draft is read carefully, revised, and often rewritten entirely. AI frequently introduces logical flaws, repetitions, unnatural contractions, and unnatural phrasing; each one is caught and corrected by hand, sometimes across many rounds.

The same applies to the art and narration. Cover art is generated using AI, then reviewed and often regenerated multiple times to get the right composition, colour palette, and tone. The animated art videos require separate prompt work and rendering. Every narration is listened to end-to-end and regenerated if the pacing, emphasis, or pronunciation isn't right. This is the process behind every story in the library. AI assists, but a human guides every step.

The design philosophy

  • No accounts needed. Download the app, start listening. No sign-up, no password.
  • Minimal data collection. We collect crash reports (anonymous: device model, OS version, error details, no personal data) and subscription tokens from Apple or Google to verify purchases. That is all. No analytics, no behavioural tracking, no third-party tracking SDKs.
  • Simple navigation. Four screens: Home, Favourites, Library, Settings. A child can use it independently.
